RE: Wanna know me? - Lauli - 09-28-2012 Why is being random a characteristic worth mentioning so particularly? Will we get to see your juggling video? Every time the topic "you not being spontaneous" in any form comes up, do you phrase your answers so that they don't sound negative? Do you consider your analytical behavior unfavorable in some situations? What was the last drawing you put (even just the least amount of) effort into? And was it really necessary to smartass around on the dream answer? :P RE: Wanna know me? - Reaper - 09-28-2012 (09-28-2012, 08:55 PM)Lauli Wrote: Why is being random a characteristic worth mentioning so particularly?I don't know, I didn't bring it up. But I think it is worth mentioning since it is related to this thread and the questions asked therein. Quote:Will we get to see your juggling video? You don't give up, do you? *sigh* I haven't even juggled the last weeks. up to 17h workdays got the better of me. Also I figured by now I'd be happier with how my juggling looks. Not really the case, though. Quote:Every time the topic "you not being spontaneous" in any form comes up, do you phrase your answers so that they don't sound negative? No, not that I'm aware of. Does it sound like it? Quote:Do you consider your analytical behavior unfavorable in some situations?Analytical? Not so much. The other stuff that accompanies it? Yes. Quote:What was the last drawing you put (even just the least amount of) effort into? One of the drawings on my lecture notes, supposed to depict a womans head with hair turning into a waterfall dispersing in darkness with lanterns in it and stuff. And no, I'm not going to post a picture of it, because I'm not really happy with how it turned out (I seldomly am when my drawings are concerned (though that's not exclusive to drawings). Gotta draw more often :P). Quote:And was it really necessary to smartass around on the dream answer? :PYes. Because - I like talking about dreams and everything that has to do with those. - As I had misconceptions about dreaming for quite a while, I'd like to make sure others don't. And I think I'll feel so again soonSeriously, don't worry about being too random for this forum. I doubt people mind and you shouldn't mind whether some people on an internet forum think of you as too random or not. I used to feel depressed sometimes myself, but that made me feel more depressed so it was either staying like that or thinking positively and, if possible, changing whatever made me feel like that. And trust me, the latter is by far the better option. Quote:Were you ever called names that made you angry?Sure, more than once. I'd wager that happens to pretty much everyone. Actually, that one might be a drawback of analytical behaviour so perhaps scrap what I said before. Going on-topic before I get warned or banned for going off-topic... - If you had your own forums, what would it be called? - Do you have any pets? (ignore if this already has been asked) - What's your favourite day in October? - How many famous South African people do you know of? (i.e. mentioned in news or something) RE: Wanna know me? - Reaper - 09-29-2012 (09-29-2012, 03:01 PM)Shane "Bane" Neumann Wrote: I actually got banned for six months just because of being too random.Really? Well, I doubt that is going to happen here. Quote:Anyway... Going on-topic before I get warned or banned for going off-topic...This is forum games, the wilderness :P Quote:- If you had your own forums, what would it be called?Haha, I have no idea. Depends on what kind of forum I'd make, probably. But for most things where I'd like to have a forum there already is a nice one, so I don't see why I should make one myself. Quote:- Do you have any pets? (ignore if this already has been asked)A dog, cairn terrier. Or rather, it's the dog of my family. So as I'm not there all too often one could argue whether that still counts. Quote:- What's your favourite day in October?I'm not sure I have one. Believe it or not, I'm not that much of a halloween fan. (No going around town with a black robe and scythe :P) 3rd October is holiday in germany, so that is nice. Quote:- How many famous South African people do you know of? (i.e. mentioned in news or something)Nelson Mandela. Also Desmond Tutu and Hugh Masekela, but for those two I had to check back to make sure they really are from South Africa. RE: Wanna know me? - empirefantasy - 09-29-2012 you said you remember 2-3 dreams per night. Then how many dreams do u watch? I think the easiest and the most practical way to remember any dream is to retell to yourself of sb else since when you wake up. the you remind it later and then you can remember it for some more time. you said you had a misconception of dreams, what was it? you said that you have lucid dreams too. In what level have you gone? Have you ever meet any dead person? What technique do you follow to do them. Have you learn about techniques by yourself or by reading somewhere? if somewhere, where? " I was most interested in physics and math, but I didn't enjoy them all too much during school. The lessons were nothing but boring for the most part (not the teachers fault, though ). I liked english, somehow." Great answer. " (You can give me one million if you want to see it )" No i will not give you 1 million, only 200.000 because you didnt mentioned doing any really good thing with them. Now show me your bank account to give you 200.000, i hope you will use only for any good things. Then how many dreams do u watch?I don't think I understand your question, what do you mean by watch? What I usually do is lay in my bed for a short time after waking up with my eyes closed, trying to go through the dream again (is that what you mean perhaps?). Then I write down everything I remember about it. The nice thing about writing your dreams down is that you can read them again after a long while and that often is enough of a cue to make the memory come back. Quote:you said you had a misconception of dreams, what was it?Ah, that was just supposed to be a reference to the ''not remembering your dreams' - 'not dreaming' distinction. Quote:you said that you have lucid dreams too. In what level have you gone? Have you ever meet any dead person? What technique do you follow to do them. Have you learn about techniques by yourself or by reading somewhere? if somewhere, where? What do you mean by level? You mean layers like in inception? I don't think that has any meaning in dreams whatsoever, but the answer'd be 2nd layer. No, I didn't meet any dead persons. I haven't been practicing for long and my lucids are still quite rare and short. My non-lucids have become more vivid and interesting, though, so that is also nice. I'm using all kinds of different techniques. I started off with MILD (mnemotic induced lucid dream, basically repeating a phrase like 'I will realize I'm dreaming' while falling asleep), then started to do RC's(reality checks, like looking at your hands or breathing through a pinched nose) and practice ADA (basically, being more aware throughout the day). From time to time I'm trying various types of WILD's too (Wake induced LD, waking up during the night and trying to not lose consciousness while falling asleep) but so far to no avail. I've learned about most of it on various forums on the internet. I first read about the concept in a magazine, but they didn't really give any tips how to achieve lucid dreams and so I forgot about it again. Then someday a friend of mine mentioned it, I remembered reading about it and decided to get some more information on the matter and see if I could do it myself. Do you have lucid dreams yourself? Quote:" (You can give me one million if you want to see it )"Euro? :P RE: Wanna know me? - empirefantasy - 09-29-2012 "What do you mean by level?" Well i mean what do u do along this time when u have lucid dream. What is your control on dream, or how much can you control the dream. 'I don't think I understand your question, what do you mean by watch?' How many dreams do u dream along the night? "Euro?" yes sure 'Do you have lucid dreams yourself?' I used to have lucid dreams when i was about 8-9 years old. Sometime i had the desire to "wake up" in dream and to be conscientious that i were in dream. So i thought that since the dream would start, i had to remind myself to be conscientious. I did time 2-3 times. And i screamed "I am in a dream, this is a dream". then this started to become usual (not the screaming), since the dream started i became aware that i were in a dream and i tried to wake up. Well i sometime i failed waking up because i couldnt open the eyes. nowadays i dont even dream often, now i dream rare. |
