Very nice tutorial, very effective way to do the standing sprites. Definatly not for the whole sheet, but for the first few, it'd work.
Note to all, If you can't afford Photoshop or don't have it, you can download GIMP. It has a lot of the same features (albeit, not as robust) and you can accomplish most of this tutorial without too much trouble. Even the layer box looks almost exactly the same.
