Why is it so scary though? I found it extremely boring. And yes, I did play it alone, with the only light coming from my monitor, wearing my headphones, in the middle of the night in dead silence(the same way I play all games nowdays
).Usually when I get scared in games is when I'm low on ammo and don't want to die, this doesn't happen. So really the only thing that has ever scared me in a game was removed from this one

Penumbra is meant to be the same sort of thing as amnesia, except instead of the character getting driven insane, it drives YOU insane, with its constant whispers and stuff written on walls that appear one moment then not the next :P

That's one hell of a constipation aid. After I clear the invi-water-monster part, I felt like someone had just written my name in the death note.

Me + daylight + mute sound + loud music that isn't ingame + lot of people in the room = playing horrors.

Well I really couldn't of cared less if I died or not. I guess that's why I didn't find it scary. I guess if someone said: "I'll give you 100000$ if you finish this game on your first run without dying once" I'd probably be scared sh****
