Exactly. Since x+y=z and you subtract z from z again it's 0. Anything multiplied by 0 IS indeed 0... or, maybe, 0,000000000pi perhaps?

The one in Japan is sometimes known over here as "The Lost Levels", though that one was the real SMB2. It was pretty much a hardened version of the original with new stuff. The one we got is an edit of "Doki Doki Panic" that had some minor changes to make it Mario-ey since SMB2J was way too hardcore for the US/Europe audience.
