great sprite! for the small version you could even simplify it a bit more and add even more contrast in my opinion.

I was kinda expecting, you'll eventually make use of knight. Didn't think Julian even get an occasion to be playable. Cool.
I'm gonna dc knight and send you when it's done. Check your 13th zone mailbox from time to time.

I wanted to make some kind of transition for stage mode, an actual beginning and the end of background. What do you think? Any suggestions for another ones?

why go with salad color tree at the begining? make it more blueish

trees dont have a specific line of beginning. so start with some trees and any other plant then with high density trees. maybe QI is the other side of the great wall.
i did some kind of modifications like that some times ago in my adventure stage xp
