RE: Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0 - Bamboori - 03-25-2015 maybe something like a herbs/potions bag? RE: Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0 - TheNave - 03-25-2015 Oh yeah, a herbbag that takes up one inventory slot but can hold up to like 10-20 herbs or something, would be nice and maybe flasks can be stacked up to 3 or 5 for one slot aswell... I like that idea RE: Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0 - Ramond - 03-29-2015 You know that other people can carry this stuff too outside of battle you can switch between your inventory items anytime anyway.
RE: Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0 - Ramond - 04-07-2015 #5: New Book of Knowledge Not much to say here, but more to see, just updated the book's interface. The Book of Knowledge 1) Haven't quited upped any Monster Database or Maps yet, as coding their pages automatically could pose a bit of a problem. Therefore, I was meaning to ask you guys: How important would a Monster Database be to you? During battles, you can see a list of "Current Combatants" on the BoK index page, where the currently listed stats will be visible from the enemies as well. There will also be an upcoming "Crafting" subpage of the BoK that will show recipes for Crafting and Alchemy skills. 2) Most of the item descriptions and stats aren't up yet, same with skills, but each of them should already give you a rough description on what they are going to do, so perhaps you can already consider where you want to spend your skill points. 3) That being said, new inventory size is 3+(STR/15), maximum inventory size 9 slots. Believe me, you won't need that much space anyway. 3b) Also, please split up your party inventory (and money) among the characters now For reference, here is the item list: http://www.vertigofx.com/jrkstudios/rpg/items.htm (a name in brackets means this character has that item currently equipped, thus it won't need an inventory space) And inventory size per player: Drahcir 6 Bambo 4 SirFrog 3 BluePhoenix 6 Nave 3 snorsorbet 5 Phil 4 Simon 5 Next up is #6: Sidekick characters! This is just a short introduction on what they are, and they could 'theoretically' play an important role in the future. RE: Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0 - TheNave - 04-07-2015 First of all... it's frikin' amazing... I love it, and I love my skill tree, I'm amazed about everything... Second thing, I was wondering, if I could write a battle-programm for you... like split into some sort of editor-part, where you could create the battlefield and set the players and enemies to certian locations and stuff, and a simulation-part where you input the actions we choose for each turn and stuff and then the programm does all the calculations, outputs the stats and the text you'd write about x attacking y dealing z damage and also a little gif-animation like you the one you did once (with some small spell animations added of course)... I thought that'd be an amazing idea, it'd do alot of the work you would normally have to do and speed up the battle parts by alot, if you approve of that idea I'll start working on it and pm you for details about how the calculations should be done how the spells work in detail and yeah... that's about it RE: Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0 - Ramond - 04-07-2015 (04-07-2015, 08:59 PM)TheNave Wrote: First of all... it's frikin' amazing... I love it, and I love my skill tree, I'm amazed about everything... Yeah, if you can do that I'd totally approve. It just sounds like a sh**** of work and I don't want to force it on anybody. In fact, me and mfc have already drafted up something in that manner, but we didn't get very far yet because I chose the BoK page update to be of a higher priority. RE: Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0 - Simoneon - 04-07-2015 !!!!!!!!! Looks really damn nice ![]() cant wait for a necromancer lol xd RE: Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0 - Bamboori - 04-08-2015 will we have an item page too? to give a view on who has which items. oh yeah and awesome ![]() i could even skill into a melee bowman now lol RE: Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0 - Ramond - 04-08-2015 (04-08-2015, 02:14 AM)Bamboori Wrote: will we have an item page too? to give a view on who has which items. Nope, your inventory items can be found on your status page to the right of your equipment. (Thus the 9 max size since it fits very nicely.) #6: Sidekick Characters A battlefield can be large and full of enemies, therefore our 8 main characters are in danger of simply being overrun. So it is time to get an army of their own. Sidekick Characters are recruitable characters (or they sometimes join themselves). They all get their own stats, levels, inventory and status pages, but they don't have their own skill trees (as compensation each of them will have a list of perks they can gain while travelling with the group). In battle they will join you and fight as your allies with the same rules as normal players. (They may or may not be directly controlled by the group - in any case it is possible to give them rough commands that they'll try to follow.) Obviously they will also benefit from group buffs. However, Sidekick Characters may die forever. If they fall in combat and are not resurrected within a number of rounds, they cannot return. Ever. Therefore it is imperative to tactically position them to your advantage without sacrificing them all at once, else you will indeed be overrun in a later stage of the game. Next up is: The story goes on! Conditions: People finally start sorting their inventories and spending their first skill points. RE: Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0 - TheNave - 04-09-2015 I'll just do the inventory managment real quick SirFrog -> Small Wand Bp -> all the moneyZ and spider leg Nave -> Antidote & Magic Needle Drahcir -> 2x Healing Flask and potion of life Bamboori -> that unindentified ring snor -> paper and triangle and those 11x wood... umm, we don't have enough space to carry all of those I think... btw... haha, the cat can carry more items than me... how funny ![]() everyone agrees? yes? kkthxbye Btw... I finished the editor part of the programm already, gonna do a quick introduction video for you tomorrow (would do it now, but it's 4:30 AM already and I'm tired as f*** after working on it for the whole day) and send you the file via pm so you can try it out and give some constructive criticsm Whaaa... wood is stackable but herbs aren't? (Well whatever, the Cat is going to carry em... Stop editing my post and read my pm
