Select the background layer and take the gradient tool and fill it out [This is how to do it in PS]
And Btw nice face pic but try to make the hair a bit correct as they look odd to me and the hands are not correctly made...
But nice try for a newbie ;)

What If I had not made the background layer from the start?
What hands?There are not any hands in the face picture.
To make things more simpler,I based it off this sprite of mine:

SB thought his shoulders was hands.
Then try to cut your face pic char and attach to other background.

It's not that hard to add a BG afterwards.
