i use paint and sometimes adobe photoshop.

you could try it with photofiltre (studio).
its just easy with it.

Well the new one looks funny ^^ no offense, but his head is to small. And the pants are too big.
The other one is not bad. Shading is cool, i like the shoes- But i cant see his mouth o___O
My tip for you is first, just change the cothes of an LF2 char and then the face and hair.
And you could also blur it a little bit at the sides.
All in all not bad :P

that was my stupid brother (which i will kill)
so nice sprites but they look kinda wired:
-the head is too small
-hands look wired
-hair also looks wired
but still good try keep going

hey, you could say at least some friendly things. They don't look THAT weird and I'm sure they will improve if we don't just say "they look wired"(lol wired).
Anyway: I think the biggest problem in the first one is the head( nearly everyone has a problem either with the head or with the hair.) It is much too small. It's Davis head isn't it? So you maybe should first use his head, then maybe overdrawing it.( You can leave the hair as it is, although some more shading would be nice.) Then just make his legs thinner.
The second sprite is quite good, but it looks weird because of some minor problems: The arms aren't very round, his left leg fat( it just goes up. It should go to the right). Again the head isn't perfect, but better. However the belt looks awful. I'm sure you could do that better.

looks good u might wanna open that shirt a bit ya know show the chest abit so it looks cooler...
and u got a wacky style of hair spriting u always make them like that...look at alectrics tut fir hair spriting its useful...
