RE: Psycho's Sprites - PsychoPixels - 07-11-2010

Followed what LutiChris said. Removed the tattoos from the face, spaced out the legs, added a neck (don't know if it looks right), and hopefully fixed the shoes.

change the eye
don't like his face

RE: Psycho's Sprites - PsychoPixels - 07-13-2010

@betitngoan: The face does look weird, still working on giving it an LF2 styled face. Difficult to work on it as pixel art. :/

Gave him some abs. That's all.

Just checked your work... and now I understand what pixel art is.
The demon one is just totally awesome! I'm sure he will pwn Julian like hell.
The abs are nicely done, but make it smaller as it goes down.

don't like his chest

RE: Psycho's Sprites - Eddie - 07-13-2010

I'm assuming the post above will be removed for its absolute uselessness.

What Betit is trying to say is this:
Chest is a bit too rounded, it should have a slightly more square appearance to it.
Also it is relatively too wide. Look in the picture above that betitngoan has posted. Your lats (back and underarm region) should be more visible than the chest. The chest shouldn't expand that wide otherwise it will limit/hinder movement of the arms.
It should also have a bit of shading at the top of the chest (squaring it off).

In general though, nice sprite. It looks good.

Eddie

Hope I did it correctly, the chest could use more shading, looks flat in my opinion.

@Taniaetc: Tried what you said about the abs, only removed one pixel for the lower abs. Didn't go any further, because it looked funny.

@betitngoan: Thanks, that diagram helped me a lot. ^^

@Eddie: And thank you for clearing that up. XD

RE: Psycho's Sprites - Eddie - 07-14-2010

No problem Psycho. Do you mind if I ask you a favour, just to see if real anatomy helps with the sprite. Can you extend the lat/back region of the character only slightly, here'd be an example:

Look at how the side (lat region) is just a little wider than the chest? It curves out towards the arm. This gives the character the more triangular and muscular appearance. I don't know how well it'll work with your sprite so, if you get what i mean, try adding that?

Eddie

Edit: If the image wasn't clear enough, found a better one produced by betitngoan! Here is what I meant:

Now you can see the lat region in all its glory, it isn't that much smaller when the arm is lowered and so looks like it is pushing out slightly behind the arm, rather than the arm being free of touching anything.

lol well I pointed out tonnes of flaws then. Too much of a muscle framed mind wouldn't you agree? lol.

Picture = worth a thousand words. Post more of them in future like the one you have above. It's the most understandable!
