You should lower helmet down. I guess it supposed to cover the eyes, now it seems like soldier is eyesless.
Helmet should be on the height level of top of the nose (where shading part starts).

Nah it should be a bit above that, otherwise the soldier will look like he has half of his face covered, that will make the factor of his 'unnoticable, no eyes' go away :P

The best thing to do is to make the helmet go slighty lower, and then shade it with black, to create a shadow effect, like you did in the spritesheet.

I might get you wrong...
but no... This ain't hoodie, there is no hood, shading part is impossible with helmet from physicist's point of view. You will either cover whole eyes with helmet or you will have eyes, no "left in shadow" option.
too lazy to write why is impossible to have eyes in shadow with helmet.

EDITˇˇ: still shadow placement is impossible. He doesn't has to have eyes, i don't care about that part, but then he should put some highlights on? shouldn't he? make some protrusions and recesses, make it 3d.

Relax man, it's a game and not real life. Even if it's impossible to be like that, the creator can make it impossible. It's not important detail to have minion eyes. You show that he is a human but eyes? He is minion. He is under someones orders which means he is not following his path but someone's else.
