walking needs upper body movement, running needs to have hair running. Also lighting on his pants is inconsistent with the boots.
Other than that its a pretty good sprite edit, looks very 80s like

Yea, is he spinning around real fast? Or does he first just look away, and than suddenly turns back and kicks

it can be a vortex with sucks in things or let things out of it (objects being spawned)

First: The ball looks great.
Now you ask what the ball should do, 1st I think it's a ice ball so it should have a freeze effect 2nd I think there could come sth. out of the spining, maybe ice-kunais ore sth. else.

make it fly and hit the opponent and when it hits tiny ice balls fly out
