Well, as far as I can say from that sprite is that he is bit older ( probably because he is General and that cheek part), dark colors mostly for bad guys. That red-ish color might mean cruelty

everything can be changed.

Red is often seen as the color of dominance

Nice job on the hair; I'd say there should be some more contrast in the clothing though (it's all just dark right now), and I don't really understand the light parts on his boots and shirt..

Other than that, cool sprite.


Well, what kind of character should the general, which is the most important villain in the story, be? We got several ideas for this badass, and we have to choose. New ideas are welcome of course. Lets think it out together and decide as a team.


Current ideas:

Attacks:
- basic, like normal LF2 characters.. Fast and strong melee moves without the use of weapons, basic dark energy attacks like an energy ball & hexagon explosion
- Weapon-related (spear, daggers, blade on shins&elbows)

Design:
- Weapon user: spearman, two daggers, or blades on his shins (or booth) & elbows
- Armored
- Face scar
- A little bit taller than the others
- A tad older than the others


Perhaps it would be good if we'd come up with diffirent designs for the general (and other characters that we know will be included), including the type of moves that would go with that design?

I'll give it a go and edit this post afterwards. Please join me on this by spriting some designs too if you can.

As isaid before
It would be better to think of specific attack to the chars and than design him while considering how the abilities influence their outfit
Plus how the story line affect the outfit
So we need storyline
No saying to much details but
A storyline that will be written with all th chars we need
So we can know where they come from and who they work with

Ahhh.. Nice timing, I just sent all you guys a PM that doesn't really work with this :p My idea was slightly diffirent, but we can do it your way too.

Could you provide an example Ariel, of a sprite that would fit the abilities? I agree on a certain level: the attacks must fit the character, but I don't think every move needs some kind of reference in the design or something. It isn't like this in the original fighters either (F.e. Woody: name allows for the green clothes and the boots, his fast speed (punches, tiger dash) allows for the spiky hair that suggests speed. But his teleporting moves and balls aren't really related to the sprite I think)

If you think storyline should be made first, before spriting the character concepts, that's fine with me. I guess we can start with the characters that will certainly be in the mod and work out the story in the meantime, what do you think Ariel? I'm talking about characters such as the general, magician and the boss. Like this:

Alright




Wizard. Old, wise, powerfull, lack of mobility (do not know if its right word for it) because he is old.

his stance would be something like this [Image: X7B14n5.png]*.  basic attacks might be something like this http://sketchtoy.com/63353830 spawn ball like magic attacks that punches enemies.



Moves:
I decided that he needs:
*attack which hits one enemy;
*evasive move;

*attack that acts like a deffensive move and offensive, like people say "best offense is deffense"
*spawn +-4 minnions
Magic ball shooter-[Image: mDlih6B.png] releases magic attack from magic ball attached on his neck (might be ice depending on fact that he is related to the ice)
Cloaking -[Image: IsufAcE.png] he hides inside his cape and teleports or might becomes invisible (not sure about it yet), and if it would be possible, It would be great if he could catch group of friends and teleport them with him or hide them.
Arrow shooter-[Image: CCY0wIn.png] shoots many arrows to all directions 
Summon -[Image: TBWzsje.png] summoning 4 minnions which are easy beaten.


since he is wizard, he should avoid direct contact with an enemy and attack from safe place.

really love all the moves you and drawings you did there mate!
would be really cool if he had a more powerful version of John's shield.

What would the minions look like though? should they be appearing as random enemies (like bandits) while in stage mode?

I was thinking that minnions might be like dummy dolls or something like earth guys but since its ice, maybe ice guys, dont know yet :)

I like the idea and the design you made! I just wouldn't use arrows. Since he's a magician, how about replacing this move with an attack in which he lifts the opponents up (similar to Henry's flute) and then "explodes", only you don't see a big explosion but waves of icy wind coming from him that freeze the enemies nearby

Well, came up with that arrow stuff but it can be beams or whatever magical.


I don't know about lifting stuff. It would work more on chars with telekinetic power. Most of his power comes from his ball I'd say (similar case to Jan). I don't want him to be like "universal soldier" :)
Also, lifting stuff might cause him to fly and that would improve his mobility.

Hmm.. It's good in 400-500% size, but it's weird in small size. I think I found the reason :p

The sprite is too small ;) He doesn't look like much of a powerful wizard if he's so small.

Also, I think it would be better if the eyes wouldn't be hidden. The white in the eye area, are they supposed to be eyebrows? Because if they are, the facial shading in combination with the eyebrows confuse me. It kinda looks like the shadow in the mouth area is a brown moustache :p No offence, I just think the face could be better. Other than that, I like the design.
