It's highly probable Marti will allow modification then, knowing that LF2 got a lot of fame from that. RE: Hero Fighter X (released) - Dragon5 - 02-26-2016 I don't think that's gonna be the case. People have asked Marti for HF being modifiable in the past, but he has said it wouldn't be possible. I can't see Steam being the reason Marti would allow custom support just because of Workshop. Marti has kept his game moleboxed and even if it weren't most files would still require Flash (or an alternative if one even exists) or a decompiler to even be accessed. Because it's Flash, the way HF is programmed is not like LF2 at all. There's also the common misconception that HF uses sprites, but in fact it uses models which piece together parts to sequence animations; think like Gad's LF2 character maker. Look at how the Heroes' hands and feet are grainy, or how hair winds up between someone's outer shoulder and their arm. While the graphics can be ripped, the animation data cannot be accessed from a decompiler. External files would be possible, but there's a limit to that without needing Flash. I understand that modding isn't for everybody in every game, but usually game developers offer tools for modders to use if there is mod support. For a Flash game modders would either need Flash or Marti would have to do some extra programming to let the right data be accessible without Flash. |
