No, seriously, it wouldn't be beneficial in any way except for having something interesting to look at, the aliens will probably be too far away to hold a sufficient dialogue anyway.

here is some crazy idea...
whut if the humans were rly the aliens after we exceed the technology...
afterall tht time our bodies must have evolved so we wouldn't look like humans
our technology might be sooo advanced tht we can supersede the speed of light and go back in time to ruin our past generations
which i know is impossible to do so because then time would repeat itself, forever...
