RE: Psycho's Sprites - PsychoPixels - 08-05-2010

@Littlebob: I think you mean 'left'? Specifically, the head is turned left, just was experimenting with different angles.

@chase: Yeah, I'm still having trouble with the legs. Glad the shading came out well, the shape, not so much. :P

@Ragor: Thank you. ^^

@Prince freeza: Thanks, I only did a few (including Billy in my sig).

A very early concept of a sprite I'm planning to make.

A four-armed cyclops. No shading, no hands, no eyes, as of yet (no need to mention it). Working on getting the shape right (used some of my demons parts, to speed up the work). And yes it is a front view of the sprite, which is how one of his moves go, an LF2 angle will be done later on. I just like to experiment with different angles (so I don't get bored).

no i meen in the monster (no the demon) from a scary thing he turnes to leafs in the back

RE: Psycho's Sprites - Pyro Lizard - 08-07-2010

I love your ability to do all this with just squares :D

It also seems you have a love for gore, demonic, or hellish things.

RE: Psycho's Sprites - PsychoPixels - 08-07-2010

@Littlebob: Could you point it out in the sprite itself? Because I don't understand what you mean by 'he turns to leafs'. (Do you mean the tentacles or the line of horns going over his face to the back?)

@Pyro: Yes, I do. ^_^

Got one side of the shading done, changed the skin palette, and thanks to the many criticisms of betit and Eddie (for the demon sprite muscles, and in case I miss anyone, sorry, I was just mentioning the two members who gave me the text heavy critics). ^_^

really weird leg muscles...

[Image: leg_muscle.gif]

and the abs... you normally get max 4 pairs...

@Phil v
but it's still humanoid as far as I can see, so some human anatomy is in order

RE: Psycho's Sprites - Lord Anu - 08-08-2010

@Psycho: You're so good in making sprites, shading and drawing goes great to you. I would like to see you make a character, but then again... It's much more work than making just a sprite, keep goin.

RE: Psycho's Sprites - PsychoPixels - 08-08-2010

@Marshall: Thanks for the reference, going to fix. You are correct, it's still humanoid, and probably will make it look better, with the fix.

@Anubis: Thank you, and I always thought if I should make a character. Then again, I usually dump any project I undertake because I eventually grow bored with it, that's why I only sprite randomly.

RE: Psycho's Sprites - Eddie - 08-09-2010

May I just make a comment whilst I'm here and going on from Marshall's point. Your abdominals on that character are going to be a pain in the arse, in all due reality if we were going for muscle correctness then those second set of arms wouldn't be able to move.

You'd need a second layer of pectoral or a larger pectoral (chest) muscle that can attach to the lower set of arms. This would allow the arms to move inwards towards the centre line of the body, in a similar kind of method you'd need to do a push up.

However if we look at your sprite, it's uncertain as to whether the sprite would look better or worse with a larger chest region. So it's a bit of a gamble as to how realistic you may want to get or much human anatomy you may want to use. I do hope this information helps you though, that's what I am here for.

@Eddie: Always good to experiment.

[Image: sn2g42.jpg]

Added another surface to the chest, instead of expanding it. Moved down the arms a bit, and changed the figure of the legs (although I'll re-shade them, since I don't think they turned out properly).

RE: Psycho's Sprites - Eddie - 08-09-2010

Hmm, I think I know whats wrong with the lower set of arms, you've rounded them like ordinary shoulders yes? Come to think of it, it would be awkward to move them about like shoulders, because the muscle wouldnt be able to rotate properly.

So here's another experiment for you to try:
You know you get lateral muscles, under the arms which run across the side of the back and form the armpits, like I told you about earlier in the thread.

Do you reckon it'd be worth a try to get the same shape muscle to go above the arm like it would under the middle arm? This would give it that little bit of extra realism in my opinion.

Also I think you need to widen the lats out a bit on the upper arms too, making them just a tiny bit wider than the chest.

Hope this helps you again PsychoPixels,

Eddie
