The first season of Pokémon, since I have never seen the Black and White anime.
Also, Ash gets his Pikachu.
The first season of the anime is called "Pokémon" but the games/manga are called "Red and Blue" if I remember correctly.

Especially because it can learn a move that is super effective against Dark and Psychic Pokémon (Fury Cutter) and that's one useful move in the Pokéstar Studio movies in B2W2.
