how can i get this sprite to have a black outline like it should ?

if u have photoshop, use effects > Stroke, make it black and 1 px and put it to Center. Make opacity 60% or something.
if u don't, if u have some good enough program (I use paint.NET), duplicate the layer, do gaussian blur radius 2px. merge the blurred layer onto a filled black layer. use wand and set the tolerance to maybe 60% (dunno, just adjust it accordingly, and select the black pixels around the blurred layer and make sure it should just be a 1 px outline on the real layer. delete, and merge the unblurred layer onto the blurred one (so u have an outline).
