Which style is best? The one to the left or the one to the right? I intend to use this for a BG.
EDIT: Dang, when it comes to image hosting Imageshack will always be best even if it is a bit annoying...

None of them. The first one looks shaded well but has no texture.
The second is textured well but has no shadow.
Try to mix them together

A small suggestion: if you have lots of free time on your hands, add some brush strokes to the rocks, similar to brokeback cliff-style. makes it look much better

erm, sorry to say so but a "mountain of hair" described it pretty well
I think you chose a too small brush, instead of using 1px or sorta that, take the 5-9px one

i think it looks like King Kong's elbow(lol)
it looks much better without that texture,
and i dont see the update either, what really is the update?
