@Forum Mod Team - Silverthorn - 04-18-2009

Alright, as it seems that the outcome of the forum mod looks quite promising. After discussion with MH, we decided to add a new User Group to the forums, called "Forum Mod Team". Its leader will be, as he posted the initial idea, Gad. And here's how you join:
  • Go to your User CP
  • Click on >Group Memberships< (yes, I was so kind to make it a link)
  • There will be a field "Groups you can join"
  • On the right side, there is a link "Join Group"
  • (well duh) click the link :P
  • Enter a useful reason. Group leaders may decide if they take you or not, so be a little serious about that ;)
  • Submit your request by clicking that neat button below "Send Join Request". The group leaders are MH, Alectric, 1477, and I so at least one of us will react ;)
  • This is for group leaders only: You have a field "Groups You Lead". There is a column "Pending Join Requests". Guess what, click there if one or more people want to apply for that group. You can approve, deny, or ignore these people then.
The reason for that: members have suggested to take this forum out of the statistics. Nothing terrible special, they just don't want to see the posts in here (because they do not care and/or don't want to look through it all). Only after you join this group you'll be able to see the Forum Mod forum (lol).

That's it. Enjoy :)

But... How people know there is a forum mod? Would it going to be no people joining?
And there will no other people knowing the content inside the mod. Maybe it is a problem....

EDIT:
My opinion: Not to restrict people to see the threads from the forum mod, but put the threads in somewhere not very obvious.
Maybe put a forum below the disposal is better, so other people would not be annoyed when they are browsing the project forum. (Project forum is a forum that people may frequently look through... )
Just opinion... and the user group maybe still useful at the 'overview' part. (Maybe setting only group members can see the new posts/replies in the 'overview')

Maybe we could make a thread in Projects to show off stuff, just as with any other project.

RE: @Forum Mod Team - lf2TimmE1 - 04-18-2009

in my opinion it should be public for all people...with one exclusion: people who arent members in the forum mod shouldnt be able to post there.

QFE... Seriously, I don't want to have the "new posts" section full with posts about the forum mod which I don't care about.

RE: @Forum Mod Team - Drahcir - 04-18-2009

Why don't you just hide it from the stats? Because people might want to see what's been done so far.

hmmm..nobod y seems to care about that this is a stupid solution for the forum mod whats really annoying me EvilMad 2

RE: @Forum Mod Team - JossuaDC - 04-19-2009

Great idea; I've already sent my join request.

RE: @Forum Mod Team - prince_freeza - 04-19-2009

i send it too i think i got exepted....now i have like a selection >>leave group<<

RE: @Forum Mod Team - Alblaka - 04-19-2009

EY! I'm not working on the mod, but i surely want to know, how its going on :/

Making the forum mod subforum invisible is a BAD idea... exspecially cuz it cannot annoy anyone, if it's only one subforum..

Pls make it back visible...
