A Random Image - Silverthorn - 04-29-2009
I have had the following situation in my mind: imagine the forum having the banner on the left side (as usual) and a random image on the right side. Now you probably ask: why? Well, we could use this space for showing winning entries in the contest-forum (in case it isn't a single sprite, it will be a thumbnail of the entry with a link directing to it) or as a random download-link from the mainsite. What do you think about this? Would you support it? Or are you opposing this opinion? Do you have any other ideas how to use the space?

well the idea is quite nice, but it depends on how much space it takes. If it takes the whole half, then I kinda dont like it (for reasons unknown). If it takes half or less than half, then I support!
Another (probably stupid) idea: A LF2 chars facepic and the same char doing some of his awesome moves (maybe even a few edited ones, only to look more awesome)
but it looks nice with empty too

Well, not entirely.
Very nice idea to have a "random" link to anything. But the randomness should dynamically change, wether there is a contest running or not. So if there is a contest, only contest images appear. If not, just a random download appears?

oh, looks like I've forgotten to tell you, but I was thinking that it shouldn't be any larger than 100x100px, so that it won't clutter too much.

About the [random]-thing... well, I don't see a real purpose in it except for the lulz. I'll think about it.

I think it's a good idea. Music forums I go to feature random album upon every fresh page with a small picture of the cover art and the names etc. Good way of finding out good music when bored, so should work for characters/BG/weapons or whatever (=
