How to use Gimp -tut. - Whaat - 05-05-2010 forgetlatios Wrote:because i have NO IDEA how to use GimpAfter this tut you should have some idea ![]() Whaat´s ´´how to use Gimp?´´ -tut. Part1: And part2: (The txtes can be little different in your Gimp, becouse i don´t use the English version, i had to make txtes by myself.) E. Little tip for those who can´t use finger or other professional tools, try pressing the picture with right mouse click, then image, then mode and then RGB (Right click -> image -> mode -> rgb). Hope this still helps someone. RE: How to use Gimp -tut. - Lauli - 05-05-2010 Nice tutorial! I would like to see more sprites from you. You might improve even more! ;D RE: How to use Gimp -tut. - prince_freeza - 05-05-2010 best feedback in the thread! RE: How to use Gimp -tut. - snorsorbet - 05-05-2010 There is nothing wrong with the tutorial itself, I actually like it because it's well written and has a good use of images which makes it very easy to follow even without reading. Very good work indeed. ![]() The sprite is, on the other hand, not too good. Don't worry though, you're still new to spriting, and some practise is really all you need, just like the rest of us ![]() I can't help but giving you some critique on the sprite itself, because I love sitting around and trying to help others to improve while doing nothing myself :P Your basic shape and anatomy on the sprite is pretty good, even if you could make the contours and different colour less "slimy" by using a smaller brush to give it some edges. The shading is a bit too smooth for LF2 style, but yeah, that's LF2 style ;P Also, try giving the sprite's clothing some folds and move the highlight on the very right of the sprite more to the left, because the sun doesn't really shine LF2 characters from beside/behind. Ehr yeah, I can only quote Lauli here: Lauli Wrote:Nice tutorial! So yeah, I'll look forward to see more tutorials from you because I like your style, and see you around ;P RE: How to use Gimp -tut. - forgetlatios - 05-06-2010 hey thanks! i was confused with all the functions and everything... and then i got lost finding the zoom tool... D: uhh... i have a problem here... when i choose the burn/dodge tool and darken some areas... nothing happens RE: How to use Gimp -tut. - prince_freeza - 05-06-2010 (05-06-2010, 03:37 AM)forgetlatios Wrote: uhh... i have a problem here... when i choose the burn/dodge tool and darken some areas... nothing happens maybe ur trying to (dodge/burn) the wrong layer?? you should do it on the layer that had the clothes,skin,hair...etc i rly dunno about gimpand how to cycle thru layers its just complicated. not as easy as photoshop RE: How to use Gimp -tut. - forgetlatios - 05-06-2010 no i'm positive that i only had one layer... and when i smudge it smudges. RE: How to use Gimp -tut. - prince_freeza - 05-06-2010 maybe the (dodge/burn) strength is not good enough? try increase it... RE: How to use Gimp -tut. - forgetlatios - 05-06-2010 nope. if it actually did something then when i undo it should go back to before dodge/burn, but instead it undoes some drawing. |
