Looking for a sound program - Som1Lse - 06-19-2010 At the moment Im looking for a sound program. (as in making sound, not editing sounds) Ive already seen a few like Audacity which might be great in some cases but just isnt really what I need. I dont care what it costs because Im only looking for a program. If you know any program you think is good for making sound effects please post it here. RE: Looking for a sound program - Lauli - 06-19-2010 You are planning to make sounds? This is going to be a bit difficult. What about recording sounds? But it would be nice if I could just sit in front of my computer and make them without having to record something (plus that would require buying a microphone) In AOM (Age of Mythology) all sound where made from scratch by either smashing vegetables against a table, recording animal sound etc. and then later modifying them. You could actually do the same. If you don't have a microphone, then just search your harddrive or the internet for sounds you can use. Then modify them if you wish. Its just that if I could sit in front of my computer entirely it would be easier. RE: Looking for a sound program - Alectric - 06-20-2010 well, there was one suggested to me somewhere in this section, it was ok for making sounds i think. but i think there are some good free programs to make sounds (well, some that have rerecorded ones anyway, and you can change them easily) i've got 3 to offer. 1st- LMMS (linux multi-media studio) good for making music and things (free) http://lmms.sourceforge.net/ 2nd- FL studio, basically a better version of the linux one, but it costs quite a lot. http://flstudio.image-line.com/ 3rd- Mixcraft, basically made for making music, has some good effects in there though. You can download trial, but it expires pretty quickly. http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/ hope you find one of these useful RE: Looking for a sound program - Som1Lse - 06-20-2010 (06-20-2010, 12:25 AM)Alectric Wrote: 1st- LMMS (linux multi-media studio) good for making music and things (free)Will try it out.
