Automatic Draft - LutiChris - 08-21-2010 hey ya...i was wondering if you could enable the pm system where you can automatically save a pm if something goes wrong like just a min ago i was pming Bamboori a half an hour long message as soon as i was done i was hit with no internet (then i couldn't go back to retrieve it) i later found out tht u had to save it to drafts... i guess it's my loss but still i don't want other members as well to go through this...especially me :P RE: Automatic Draft - MH-Razen - 08-21-2010 woot ![]() well, the suggestion is fine, but I wondered - when something like this happen to me it`s still in cache, so I`m not sure if it`s a problem of the website or of your browser-settings RE: Automatic Draft - blow_fly98 - 08-21-2010 Depending on your browser, you can press the "Back" button, and you'll see that the textbox retains its text (ie the message you wrote). RE: Automatic Draft - LutiChris - 08-21-2010 I personally have no problem back @ home using mozzila fox allways saves it when going back unfortunately my cuz has internet explorer which doesn't retrieve the information offline anyways to get it back? RE: Automatic Draft - Silverthorn - 08-21-2010 Get a browser-plugin or something else on the client-side. When you have no internet, you cannot temporarily save data on the internet anyways. So "save to drafts" would help you about as much as trying to engrave your name into a liquid. And that's also the reason why you should hit Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C before sending larger messages. Just to keep it saved somewhere. RE: Automatic Draft - MH-Razen - 08-21-2010 well, the crtl a/c thing should do it, but I guess he meant something like gmail online - if you type it automatically save every word in the draft and it`s not possible to lose any word you wrote (as long as you`re online )
RE: Automatic Draft - The Lost Global Mod - 08-21-2010 ^ yea like saving your draft every 5 minutes or so should do.. this way not everything is lost in case your internet fails =) RE: Automatic Draft - MH-Razen - 08-21-2010 I can suggest this here to the mybb developer team - it`s surely a good idea, but I doubt they`ll add it quick... |
