Healing / Buffing - Eldur - 09-28-2010 I'm totally new to coding LF2 and Im just totally confused when Im looking into the Data yet. )= Soooo I wanted to ask you what would I need to change that john is using "Jan's" heal, the one with the flying angels (or birds, not sure) My second question would be how can I perform a "buff"? As in: Strengthening my Allies and myself. Strength, Defense... etc. =) RE: Healing / Buffing - Ascor - 09-28-2010 1. Change the Opoint or just copy the attack and adjust the d_ja: or something like that. Look at mainsite for further explaination. 2. You can either just change the Itrs or you can use a temporary transform. See Mainsite here also. I should really edit this here with further explainations. Will do that later unless lauli pwns me with a detailed plan... I sense it. RE: Healing / Buffing - Lauli - 09-28-2010 Hello Eldur. If you want to change John using the Healing-Angels, you'd simply have to create a new frame for a T3 object, and use that special hit_Fa: that Jan uses. Argh, I don't know. If you'd like to start DCing, then you should do something easier. Like trying to make a punching combo for a character. Hey, you could also try out some tutorials from the mainsite, and see if you learn anything! EDIT: @Hacker: Be nice to newcomers and write with a little more love. No seriously. Or don't post at all. RE: Healing / Buffing - Eldur - 09-28-2010 Thanks for the nice words and the fast reply! I'll try something easier first then as you told. EDIT: Another question... sry ): How can I see what lines perform what move? RE: Healing / Buffing - Ascor - 09-28-2010 Nothing easier than that.
See On the first few lines called "Header" we have this part:
It tells the programm that this is a new frame. The 277 is the identifyer which you can refer too like hit_a: 277 The next words are commentations about what this code does. As we can read it says force field. So this move will spawn johns force fields. Easy as that :) RE: Healing / Buffing - Lauli - 09-28-2010 If you look at the "standing" frames, you can see somewhere it says hit_Fa: ??? for example. hit_Fa: basically means "hit Defend + Forward + Attack", at least I always think it means that. Haha. If you look at the number behind hit_Fa: the number should be more than 235, usually. So for example, if it says hit_Fa: 315, it means "If you press Defend + Forward + Attack", then you will go to frame 315. (That command only works in the frame where it is actually noted.) I'm pretty sure it says what all other commands mean on the mainsite. EDIT: @Hacker: Argh, you are a shadow ninja of great shadow. RE: Healing / Buffing - Ascor - 09-28-2010 Oh he was actually asking about which Key-Combination performs which line in code? Sorry if i missunderstood that. Also to complete Lauli you should remember that you always have to press Defend in hit_Fa: hit_Ua: and probably all hit_?: except hit_d: hit_a: and hit_j
RE: Healing / Buffing - Eldur - 09-28-2010 HMmm. I didn't find much useful things on the main website. Maybe I just didn't find it but the replies here are very informative that to be said. Thx =) I checked up Jan's Data. Also... she has 3 data's which is rather confusing me, Jan, Jan_Chase, Jan_Chaseh. Which lines from one of these 3 .dat do I have to extract to john's dat bah... wait that's getting confusing.... What do I have to replace with what to get John doing the Flying Angel skill instead one of his skills? RE: Healing / Buffing - Ascor - 09-28-2010 Allright. To not confuse you i will start which .dat means what and edit the other parts. Jan.dat: This is the main data. All the spawning stuff is written there and also the walking and all that basic stuff. Jan_Chase.dat: This is where the ball is defined, that should be spawned when a specific line in the Jan.dat gets activated. Jan_Chaseh.dat: Look above. Jan_Chase is the attacking one of Jans spawning thingys. Jan_Chaseh is the healing one. That's what the H stands for. I'll now edit which lines does what and what exactly you have to copy. This will take about 5-10 additional minutes.
The first lines are just some Animation stuff but you need atleast 1 frame before the last frame CAUSE Opoints will NEVER work in the first frame. So when it's really getting interesting is Frame 245. I am actually quite sorry that all Frames are titled as "Standing". Dunno what's wrong with my .dats
Do note that there is an opoint in it. Check the Mainsite for opoint references. oid: tells the lf2.exe that something is spawned. 219 is the id that shall be spawned. Which oid you have to use is written in the data.txt Look it up and search for: id: 219 type: 3 file: data\jan_chaseh.dat See oid: 219 tells the exe to spawn the healing chase doves that jan uses. Copy it into john.dat and adjust the hit_Fa: Probably you have to change the Frame numbers cause john already got a pair of 245 frames. That sounded wrong but there cant be 2 frames with the same frame number. So rename the Frame number of jans to something like 350. Make sure to edit the next: also so it doesnt link to a frame that john uses for force fields or something like that. Make sure to check out opoints on the mainsite.
