Loos pretty good so far but can be better (don't pay 2 much attention to my critisism cause I am a terrible spriter )

His movements are actually funny. Takes some skill to move only your arm when trying to shoot quickly. And his hair in the second sprite is way diffirent from the other 2 sprites.

Well, if animating it doesn't work for you, try to at least have it hang instead of float.

there should be a few frames after the attack where he goes back to his normal state.

I think Bamboori meant adding some new frames further showing the transformation. Not just adding the same sprite / increase frame length.
Gotta agree, it's not even nearly smoth ^^ Between small-eating-arm and big-eating-arm there isn't a single frame/sprite.
