High-quality sprited characters - snorsorbet - 12-23-2010
Is it only me who has noticed the recent uproar of well-sprited characters here on LFE? :D
A year ago it was very thin with characters sprited from scratch and about to be finished. What happened? :P
Good work guys, specifically prince_freeza, Trickityhouses and hell fightter!
EDIT: Of course, I forgot. Thanks for reminding me Whaat. Designheaven definitely deserves mention too! :D

As for other other spriters not mentioned, they must be bloody usless!
In fact, i would go as far as to say ban them! The lot of them!

most of all they arent recent
they learned their way somewhere else - not on lfe
edit: actually hell fighter has learned most of his current ability elsewhere too and trickity kinda just came here out of nowhere knowing what hes doing
you could instead mention more members that havent done a full sheet yet but seem to have aquired the ability to do so
i think weve got quite a few of those

I would like to bring to you guys notice that many (not so many XD. But yeah kinda) are not treated well (?). Like not posting in their thread, humiliating, and fearing them. I don't know much about that. I AM NOT SPEAKING HERE ON LFE OFC!!. So, we would have missed many talents.

Being my first post in a long time, I see this topic as worthwhile to have it.
Aye, the talent has definately become apparent in some people, but not something that wasn't obviously there before - as YinYin said.
As for Alblaka's note on the idea, the talent doesn't expand far enough for DC'ing Whizzkidz to really make any progress. Most of the people that make decent sprites will also want to DC themselves, leaving only those people who don't make spritesheets for the DC'ers to play around with.
I am suprised at the newly shown talent but at the same time am suprised to see its becoming a more inactive forum. Not that I can talk with the new job and Uni to think about, but it's still not what it used to be (from as far as I can remember).
But yes, well done to Trickity, Design and Prince for rapid improvement on all levels of spriting. I would congratulate Apoc, Sieg, Alec and Outtie and all the other decent spriters - but then that would be an overflow of what I've said and others have said before. You know it to be true, so no need for me to inflate your ego's just yet.

I think others having good projects inspires others to have good projects. Also all of the sprite contests and artwork threads help in sharping ideas and giving good examples of work to others.
On a side note this makes me want to do some sprite sheets for the DCing maniacs. its just hard to sprite and not look at it ingame to see if the animation works all together.
