Paypal related question - no one - 07-29-2011

When I registered for a paypal account, I lied about my birth date. Do you think I will still be able to withdraw the money to my bank account?

If I can't then will it work if I wait until I'm 18 (yes, I'm still underage), open another paypal account and send all the money from the old one to the new one?

Yes you need to be over 18. Try creating a new account with your birth year below 1993 and see what happen.

And I can't open a new one just yet since I got a few bucks in there and they aren't easy to get

This is what I did.
You can do that 0.o? I heard from a friend that paypal can cross check the name/birth date/... and freeze the accounts of those they deem suspicious. If I keep transferring money from email A to email B and then back to email A again wouldn't they be able to sniff out something?

Why would you keep doing it back and forth? You just do it once and you're done with it. I doubt paypal will start an investigation because you moved you 50$ from one account to another.

Anyway you can't do it according to the paypal terms which state you can have only one account, but the terms also state you can't register under 18 so really I don't know why you'd be concerned about the terms :p.

I'm currently using email A to receive payment from various sites and it would be a pain to change them all. So I want to open another account with email B, transfer the money there, close account A and then reopen (creating new one) it using the exactly same email A and re-transfer all the money from account B back to the newly created/open account A. That's why I need to go back and forth.

And it wouldn't be just $50, the money is quite big so will paypal look into it if I suddenly transfer more than $600 like that?

Maybe... especially if you go back and forth. I mean isn't the limit something like 1k if you have an unverified account? and they do that to stop money laundering. They may or may not notice(only they know how their flagging system works), and if they do flag your account good luck getting any money out since you signed up with fake details :D.

On a side note, I wouldn't trust paypal with your money... they tend to screw people over quite often. Withdraw it as soon as you get any into your account. If you ever need to buy something with paypal, just let paypal charge your card.
