Jerk's tracks - Jernemies - 01-22-2012

Now's a good time for me to post this thread, as I haven't been able to scratch up anything good lately.
So this is a thread for my "music" (they contain no vocals). I'd like to know what's there to improve.

In the spoilers I've listed the ones I like to listen to (doesn't add up to the stats). There may be pearls left at my soundcloud page though, see my sig. The spoiler headers contain names, and the genre it's resembles the most, or just something. Choose something you feel like listening to.

Haven't listened to all of them yet, but I'll try to comment a little anyway.
First of, there are some really nice tunes there. Some I don't like as much, but then again music's something highly subjective.

For example, the percussion part of "the dethroning" I felt wasn't exactly fitting to the sombre atmosphere of the choral. On the other hand, the instruments in Raging winter were working together just fine. The icy keys, the high-pitched chorals (you like chorals, right?) and the ghastly wind noice created a very ambient piece. I guess I liked that piece best from all of those.
"The village under attack" had quite some nice parts, but I sort of expected some progression, a climax if you will. After all it's being attacked.
"A happy village" was a very nice little tune. It reminds me of something but I can't tell what. Perhaps percussion is a bit prominent for my liking as the flute/whatever creates the mood here.
"On the wall" is nice in that its evolving. I especially like the part after 1:27.
All in all some nice stuff there. What I was missing were altogether a little more progression and some more complex/longer melodies. I'm not a big fan of one-measure parts repeating. But then again most of this is not the kind of music I'd normally listen to and perhaps it's actually intended that way (Just like I can't stand those electronic titles doing this percussion eights, then semiquavers, demisemiquavers all going together in a high note and then going back to the original pattern every second minute in every third song but everbody listening to them tells me that's the most awesome part :P)
May I ask what you used to create those songs btw?

That's one of my favorite tracks (the third, maybe). Just forgive the loudness of the pad and the high-attack choir in the later part.

Sure. It's, like, made for ambient, and anxient music.

I think that's my most succesful track there =) It's short, but also loops fluently.

Also, if you like darkness, there's "haunted storage" (ignore the snares and the too long scretch around halfway), and "No dark feelings"
