Single battle Exp. points? - Memento - 07-31-2008
This system would give a summary of how much and how well people play. The idea is as follows.
Players get a set amount of Experience Points for defeating certain opponents (must be a member of LFE). The idea is to make a small list of all the best players in the forum.
For exemple:
Azriel: 50 points
Noir: 40 points
Neocrypt: 20 points
etc. etc.
The players who are not on the list are worth 10 points.
(Possible) problems:
- Someone defeated a really good player, lets say.. Evil Sonidow, and he's not on the list, so he'll get only 10 exp. points. That may cause discussion.
- People may not agree with the system, because non-skilled players who play the game very often will slightly get more and more Exp. points, while skilled players who don't play often get less points (they get them easier however). An idea would be to set a max of like 3 battles which you can get exp. points for, and only for LFE members...
- It would require the assistance of 2 people. The person who lost and the person who won. The idea would be to send a win/loss message to to person you fought with. Your opponent can agree or deny this win/loss. This way, cheating the system will become harder.
There are quite some possible problems, and it would require some work on the website... However, if you like the idea and would put it in use, I'd be glad ^^

As far as I understood this you suggest a new system on how to decide how good a player is ( I didnt get the message for how often, cause if you don't want to sum up all the points I dont see a difference to the actual point-system). Hm, no offence but it was a whole lot of work o set up this and can't compleatly change to yours (also need to recount all the tournaments , two so far, but work enough
)What I could take over as an idea (and what I dislike in the moment anyways) are private 1vs1 tournaments. I THINK you suggested this, not 100% sure
But then week guys (or new pro fighters which are still stuck in newbie rank) can get more points in a 1vs1 match, but I dont really like the idea of 3: 0 (five fights max per match) for this and this is also easy to cheat...

Well... A new Problem
Let´s explane it at this example:
There are 3 Players, A,B and C
Player A is good against the strategie of player B, but bad against C
Player B is good against the strategie of player C, but bad against A
Player C is good against the strategie of player A, but bad against B
that could cause Problems at the pointlist ..

I'm in a hurry, so I didn't have time to read both messages completely, but I forgot to mention that this Point System was actually meant ASIDE of the tournaments... Not as a new tournament system.
@Dome: You got that problem with any game...

this problem is solved at the actual tournament system with a simple re-fight of all three matches untill there's a difference...

then you can get exp points much easier and not only if you win a tournament.
