A quick guide about shading - Silverthorn - 04-07-2012 Lately, I have seen people that have been struggling with shading; that applied highlights and shadows in a way that showed that they don't fully understand why some parts are brighter and some not. Instead, it rather looked like they memorized areas that should be darker/brighter instead of thinking about if it makes sense whatsoever.
