Misconceptions you had as a child - Electric2Shock - 08-01-2012

Ok, I saw this thing in the SMBX Forums.

Post whatever misconceptions you had as a child. Like of age 8-12 or something.
Well most of us ain't adults. oO

I had many of them and simply can't think of something to come up with.

Me and my brother thought that instead of straw or grass the farmer put the wheels of his tractor inside those wrapped bales.
A friend thought that inside there were dead cows.

It's actually dead people.

Don't worry though, there's no reason to be suspicious,

Farmer Ed's probably just secretly a mortician.

Oooh, dead people, i see!
I was really worried that inside there would actually be... wheels. Ugh, even the thought of it makes me shiver. But yea, now that I know that the farmer just puts dead people inside his wrapped bales, everything is fine now :)

This thread needs more posts! I really would love to see what other people thought.

I never liked ice cream men in their ice-cream trucks. They always looked sketchy and the guy that used to go in our neighborhoods fit the profile of a deranged serial killer or gang-bang child molester plus he was black (no offense). This was my misconception as a child that the ice cream was secretly sold as dope to the kids in the neighborhood. I could be wrong but maybe that thought isn't too far fetched as it may seem...

Just some things that I remember off the top of my head:

I actually thought the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter was spherically symmetrical around the sun. Took me years to understand that the laws of physics don't allow such madness!
For those that don't know: it's just a plane, not a sphere

Also, I was in the strong belief that Atlantis was about 1000km south of Greenland with an approximate area of Australia.

Time travel into the past was possible if you concentrated well enough. Sadly, I always got distracted by Lego-pieces....

Pokemon exist in places no human has ever visited. So do dragons.

My cuckoo clock (also referred to as "the doomclock") is a perpetuum mobile.

If you grab something in your dream and wake up, you'll hold it in your hands in reality. As soon as I tried to transfer money into reality, I got disappointed....

The internet-connection-speed will never be faster than Dial-Up. Why would anyone need faster internet?

Eh, can't think of anything else as of now :p

You know, that reminds me of a lucid dream I once had, where it just would NOT end. Couldn't wake up. Eventually I (in the dream) raised my hands up to pry my eyes open (not as gross as it sounds, just pusing he eyelids apart), and I immediately woke up with my hands in that same position.
