CPU transplant - Electric2Shock - 08-07-2012 Ok, I have a very n00bish CPU named Intel Celeron D. I have a Core 2 Duo in my laptop and I am thinking of transplanting the Core 2 Duo to my PC and Celeron to my laptop. Will it work? Also, please tip me on any important\optional steps to be taken to assure better performance. I am not doing this by myself. As a matter of fact, I don't even know the size of the screwdriver meant for opening the screws of my laptop. My laptop is Sony VAIO vgn-c22gh (screw). Please help. RE: CPU transplant - A-Man - 08-07-2012 Lol, celeron?? I read that its before even pantium. Well, no u can't. The CPUs for the laptops are often built-in the motherboard itself. So you can't take it off. Also each generation of processors got their own unique slots. RE: CPU transplant - Electric2Shock - 08-08-2012 I get your point. To make sure of it I just need to check my laptops motherboard. I am ok with my pc motherboard. But if celeron dont fit in the laptop it will be rendered useless and i have to put its harddisk on my motherboard. Thanks a lot. RE: CPU transplant - Boop - 08-08-2012 CPU: I can tell you right now it's not going to work. Hardrive: Putting a laptop hard drive in a desktop might be a pain in the a** as well since most of them have stupid connectors for power and you'd probably need an adapter. RE: CPU transplant - Sonic Boom - 08-08-2012 well my advice is that just sell ur celeron and get a Core 2 Duo CPU which is assembled at a cheap price as I got 3 Yrs Ago which was probably just Rs. 12000... Maybe its even cheaper or its nowadays as I heard Core 2 Duo in my area is now not available as Intel wants some sales of the i3 stock which is kinda as same as core 2 duo but its much expensive. |
