Your opinion on damage values - Electric2Shock - 10-24-2012 Spoiler (Click to View) High Damage (Click to View) Low Damage (Click to View) You may also add your opinion on why you chose a certain option. If you feel some of my options as biased, then please feel free to comment here. RE: Your opinion on damage values - Alblaka - 10-24-2012 I would like to vote for medium damage. If the damage is too low, it feels like WoW tank vs tank. If the damage is too high, there's no skillceiling (aka, good timing oneshots). The middle ground is the best imho, not permitting 'cheap' onehits, but as well requiring players to actually watch their hp. RE: Your opinion on damage values - LutiChris - 10-24-2012 I like low the best, even though it may take a while, you're able to show off your skill in that time frame. Giving your opponent the opportunity to make come backs and heighten his chances of winning and his hope up but still defeating them makes it a savory well played out match for both players. 2nd best is medium, i'm in favor of this, because there are more pro's to this and no high damage, you usually end up with a quick match and that actually doesn't show your skill and most of the time it doesn't come across as fun when it's too instantaneous. +for obvious reasons as listed under con's RE: Your opinion on damage values - Karma - 10-24-2012 I like low, because you can enjoy fight, and its more realistic than( some might say tank vs tank) high damage. As Luti mentioned, you can show off and have an interesting fight. RE: Your opinion on damage values - A-Man - 10-24-2012 I agree with Luti. Low damage ratio makes the battle more interesting, and even when a player is about to lose, he will still have hope for winning. Specially in tournaments, low damage==long battle makes the game stressful XD. Games with high damage ratio are often boring and easy to play; you can just train on one combo and then use it for ever to beat enemies, as your enemy won't have enough time to figure out your combo and dodge it for the next time. Thats it for me. RE: Your opinion on damage values - Lauli - 10-24-2012 If we're generally talking about damage-dealing in any way, I always liked the idea of medium damage and super-fast regeneration. That way matches will take a reasonable time, but you still have the pleasure of watching awesome combos, because the regeneration forces the players to deal a lot of damage at once. RE: Your opinion on damage values - InPhiKnight - 10-25-2012 I voted for low but low as well as high are good to play with. Playing with low for a long time and then suddenly hitting with high damage if fun RE: Your opinion on damage values - Marko pro - 10-25-2012 normal value of damage...5x bigger defense for me sound perfect(600 to low, around 3 000 should be) RE: Your opinion on damage values - Kevin - 10-25-2012 I'm quite surprised actually that people prefer low damage ^^ For VS mode I prefer high damage. It's actually less frustrating. E.g. your opponent hits averagely twice everytime he gets hit by you. If the damages are high, you can still get almost half of the points your opponent get. If the damages are low, you'll get almost no points!! (statistical probability, you know ^^ ). And the match can be over before you can get frustrated. BUT for survival/stage, it should be medium damage (i'm saying the current is good). Is best if the damage we take at once is limited (e.g. the opponent can't deal more than 200 damage at once//further damage will be ignored until we fall down or flip). Because in survival it is instead frustrating to die suddenly. It feels fairer to die after several mistakes. RE: Your opinion on damage values - Evil Sonidow - 10-26-2012 I find it more frustrating if I'm overwhelmed by a couple of attacks that give me no room for mistakes. Fights ending quickly tend to be pretty frustrating when you don't have any chance of a comeback at some point. I agree with medium damage on survival/stage. |
