Slow poison - Kezeal - 02-13-2013

Would it be possible to make an attack that'll slowly start taking the enemy's health?
I figured it may be possible with an invisible ball following the enemy and attacking every now and then, but how would it be performed and wouldn't it pass on to other enemies by accident if they pass eachother by too quickly?

Yes that would be an issue. But depending on your poison effect that could also be a feature (infection).

If you want a solution that does not have this problem you could try using Jans angel chase (yes it can also chase opponents).
This one only aims for one character and has a special action upon touching it (going through other characters).
It may be difficult to set up though.

To make it more difficult, the attack lets out a cloud of poison. Anyone who uses "defend" inside it before getting hit doesn't get poisoned.
Is there still a way to do it?

If you edit the defend frame of every character that will be able to not get poisoned, yes. (Adding a special body that will make the poison object disappear)
But that's not a very practical option.

This poison thing is very hard and irritating to code. If you're planning on a weapon or a char, then you will have to add all needed frames to all the 24 original chars. That's the reason I give up making poison bomb. :P

No, that is a wrong way. If he will follow it then he have to even edit the newly created or downloaded characters. If he is making a mod then it's ok but if he is making a new character who will have this attack and then we will download it then we also have to edit all the characters. That would be very annoying and difficult.

(Sorry if I had made any grammatical mistakes)

The special bdy is the only method (AFAIK) to make it bug-free, and I am sure the OP understands that as he is the one who asked how.

It is not the only option, he can also make that attack bounceable like Davis' energy balls so that it could bounce back or disappear when it get hit.

Or if this also doesn't work so it's better to forget about dodging it. It should be undodgeable (invincible).

If the method that you had told is the only way then I don't think that anybody will bother to download it because whoever will download this have to edit all the characters.

Btw, I am not saying anything against him or his project.
