Revamped Projects [Voting Round 1] - YinYin - 09-28-2013 Pick the best revamp of Round 1! You need to decide on exactly one. So do give each entry a try before you vote. The poll will close in 7 days. Here are the 3 entries: (08-31-2013, 02:36 PM)empirefantasy Wrote: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ajsd624u660wzds/marshall_revamped_edition_by_EF.zip (09-04-2013, 04:37 AM)luminance Wrote: http://www.mediafire.com/?pbd2yoa1bm18y90 (09-21-2013, 06:23 PM)YinYin Wrote: http://www.mediafire.com/download/f68cw83ehlcl433/marshall.zip RE: Revamped Projects [Voting Round 1] - 8obis - 09-29-2013 The number of entries didn't turn out very well. I think you should either change the number of entries that sets the deadline from 3 to 5 or something like that or give out more than a week after 3 entries are submitted. RE: Revamped Projects [Voting Round 1] - YinYin - 09-29-2013 Well I don't have much of a choice here. I'm glad empirefantasy entered a simple general fix of Marshall. I wish more people would've entered something with at least this amount of effort. Because everything that has been fixed certainly does make Marshall better. Never the less it cannot hold up against luminances Earth revamp. The new sprites and face picture are splendid (even if a bit too sharp in some places for LF2 - but that's not a bad thing). All the basic actions play and animate really great. And the new D>J displays good attention to detail (sounds, different hit effects on first and second/third col, breaking animation). The only thing that bugs me is not being able to hit them from the back. But I guess that's not that easy to do. Got my vote and excitement for the next update. Other than that I disagree. For one thing 3 entries are far enough which is why I chose that number. A few more would've been nice but many more wouldn't be that good because I doubt many people would download and test a lot to properly decide their vote. Also I want entries to be comparable on the time scale too - if that 5th person just takes half a year to perfect the entry all we get is very disproportional amounts of effort and effectively no running contest during that time. And as I've said before unfinished revamps are perfectly fine too - you can certainly make the direction you are taking a revamp very clear without having it all finished. The current Earth revamp being a great example. On top of that others might be waiting for another character line up to be revamped and I won't run several rounds in parallel. And characters that people seemingly spend more time on can simply move over to another round like the Zombie. RE: Revamped Projects [Voting Round 1] - Memento - 02-08-2015 Sorry for reviving this, but I was trying to get these characters and I can't open any of the files. I can download them, but I get an error that the folders are broken. Is it just me? If not, could someone reupload these? I just test-downloaded them, looked inside and randomly opened up the files. If my net goes suicidal, I often get the "download finished"-messages even though it cut off right in the middle of it. Can you try redownloading? If it wasn't such a hassle creating the preview-images and writing up the articles, I'd have probably sent them to the mainsite immediately RE: Revamped Projects [Voting Round 1] - Memento - 02-08-2015 (02-08-2015, 10:58 AM)Blue Phoenix Wrote: If you're referring to this post: Yes, those are the links I was referring to. I'll try downloading a diffirent program to unzip the files. as for the preview images etc, does the creator have to make it or can I make something for it? The actual reason I'm downloading characters at this moment is that I want to collect interesting ones that deserve a place on the mainsite I'd be happy to collect the info, write a description and make preview images RE: Revamped Projects [Voting Round 1] - YinYin - 02-08-2015 (02-08-2015, 11:05 AM)Memento Wrote: as for the preview images etc, does the creator have to make it or can I make something for it?
