I don't know how you would go about doing it on an actual handheld. But it is possible to printscreen an emulator while you're playing.
If you don't know what an emulator is, it's basically a free digital copy of a game. Go and download a ds ROM along with the ds game and once you start playing just use the printscreen button to record the character's movement/attacks or whatever.
but why waste the trouble of downloading anything when you can easily find those images somewhere lurking on the web?
what game/character are you trying to get?

From bleach the 3rd phantom there is a symbol when a enemie dies or when someone transform to bankai
