Hey Monolith, cool character you're working on!

I got only 2 things to point out.. The shirt could be shaded better in both in-game sprites and the face pic. Also, the lines in the face pic are too straight. I have never seen a person with a such block-like body. Other than that, the face pic looks cool

for the heavy throw, maybe add a inbetween frame? looks a little fast considering how far down he goes in the throw.

Meh, it looks like the spear is only in the way.
I suggest you making that like LouisEX makes (kicks and spear leans to him) or you can make him hit the enemy with the spear with his right hand (he normally carries it with left).
