buying notebook :p
#1
so since lafeebs thread got much response ill also ask you guys.

im looking for a budget laptop/netbook/notebook for lan parties.
my budget is pretty tight so the cheaper the better (im planning to buy used in any usable condition).

since we mostly play older games on our lan parties it only needs to be able to play things like counterstrike: global offense at high fps (preferrably 60+ at any point in game). i can live with lowest grapics settings.

my budget is about 130€ max (roughly the same in USD), but since i dont really need a working hdd (have some spare ones) or a battery i may be able to get a suggested device for cheaper.

well i could stretch my budget a little, but since i would hardly use the device outside of lan parties i wanted to spend about 130€ at most (given the current € course thats roughly the same in USD).

i know its a tight budget, but as i said the condition doesnt really matter. if you guys have something much higher priced i may be able to get one beat up and with no battery, hdd and the like.

I just converted it aand i was like: WTF?!
Dude i mean, im sorry if this would be offensive, but, the truth is, thats a heck lot of less amount of money..
I mean in that, its VERY difficult to get a USED lappy even in that budget if u want smooth 60 fps or +

no offense taken :p
actually there are lots of cheap used laptops availabe here, i just dont know what exactly i need.
what im currently doing is browsing through and looking up each single graphics card. i could get to a result eventually, but maybe some of you know a direction to go or even a specific model/series.

what i found so far is the samsung np q70, with 2gb ram. it does seem to suffice for my needs, what do you think?

USD$195 is extremely tight even for a used laptop as Appendix pointed out... my view about buying any hardware (or long term appliances/furniture for the matter) is that its better to spend on something a bit on the higher end once so that it stays useful even if you don't use it much, rather than constantly spend a bit over many years. I suppose you don't plan on using this laptop for long?

Anyway,
Judging from this video gameplay of CS:GO using around the same specs, it seems you'd be able to run the game but face quite a bit of FPS lag. Would you be okay with that?
