how about two captchas, both work but only one registers you(tell the person which is the correct one) and they have different content on each? or you can't do that? at least halves the number of bots.

if anyone is watching the member list, and looking at the banned profiles, Alectric with his Duck hammer has been lurkin'.

im also trying to edit their profiles to remove the links in their posts, so stupid people dont click on them.

its pretty easy to detect a bot. Most human members say random things like "lf2 rocks" or "haha lol go away ;P" or something like that, while the bots say crap like "hi, my name is ___ and i like photography, and i have a dream of being a real person some day"

so yeah.

I haven't made an account here since... whatever my registration date is,
but have you thought about implementing/have you implemented one of
those pictures that you have to identify the numbers in it?

Okay, this seems necessary to be said: a sufficient captcha-system is both hard to program and hard to find. That calculating-crap will not work. At all. Go enter any basic calculation task (fe. 7+4*3-22) into google. Now don't think that other bots are not able to solve that.

how about an integration.. and then add an linke to wolfram alpha so dudes can solve this but bots can't cause they don't know how

Or. Protect the forums with password, and only guys who PMs admin or mod gets a password and can come in.
This should be announced in easy way - so noobs could understand.
