VEHICLE :)

Well I found this animation on the Chinese Board of lf2.net and I have to say that my heart went strait into the air after seeing it...

The post was made by Ljokp

so what is so special about that?

If you take a close look at the beginning you will see Henry who transforms/dresses up as a gun specialist after running into the first box...so I have asked myself in which other ways this could be useful to the LF2 Community...YEAH vehicles...how?

Well I have the idea that it would be possible to make you sit in a ROBOT (like in Tomcw's Mod) when running over the first field (where you cant look in for ex. to see whos in there, because that box would just swith to other sprites like it does in the animation)...and the next boxes could me like in the animation other weapons...
mhhh there is only one question left!!! There was already made a ROBOT (as already mentioned in Tomcw's Mod) BUT that one wasnt capable of doing anything fluently like in this animation and other vehicles like the bike in RN LF just had some small commandos...so i asked myself is that possible or not? (cause after all i am no dc'er)

I can think of a possible way, but I don't think it's used in this case.

There's a invisible char that has a ball stuck on him per itr/kind: 8. And somehow the ball changes everytime into another "weapon" if the char runs over a powerup.

But the animation is SICK

Blue Phoenix
Agree, especially when Henry transforms.

I could explain you my theory of that weapon-change... how it's realized in the animation... maybe that'll explain something if you wanna do that with that robot-thingy......

First, you need a char, in this example, HENRY! Then, you need a second char, here it's that other person, call him however you want to^^
Basically, this second character must have transform-pictures (that 140-picture-shift). And all the other characters a standard-frame, like the standing is at 0 or the punching at 60/65. An object will catch Henry, and bring him to that transform-standard-frame. This is how we got our soldier-thingy.

Now, about the weapons...
I dunno, how other characters will react on the boxes, if every character is sensible to them (actually, it'd just mean that there have to be more standard-frames). Each box will make the character go to a delete-weapon-frame, from where the character gets a new weapon. Each different box makes the character delete his current weapon and create a new one, depending which frame is displayed (sounds weird, hope you understand it though).

ok, this is for the weapons. now to that vehicle-thingy...
basically, it works kinda similar, it "sticks" via wpoint at the character. wpoint's action-values make the vehicle do certain actions. It's kinda difficult to program that, maybe I'll have some time when I get outta school........

hes not running into it - hes picking it up (and i assume hes pick-replacing it with the other boxes by pressing A over them)
sure its possible - looking at how he moves afterwards i assume he used the heavy weapon frames (thats just like my julio)
hence those characters wouldn be able to properly pick up stones/crates

easy to do thing - and im thinking about doing so for killer lf2 if i add some heavy/more weapons so i dont have the hassle with my normal gun system (sleeker imo - but way more difficult to create more than one weapon with it)

edit: much more interesting to me are the spread projectiles - Ljokp:

more evidence that its just like julio - the swat can be hit without effect (until the weapon breaks) [Image: u5.gif]
also the sword goes between legs and weapon
vgkittenaeris Wrote:Well, I can't say it's unimpressive, whoever did this (Didn't Felix create the SWAT?) has a good degree of sprite and data control.
However this is completely out of my style. I was never into the whole "shooting soldiers" thing. Got any monsters around there?
akatsuki Wrote:I have to say thats pretty cool, what makes me doubt there pickup weapons thought is for the last weapon, crate labeled S, (I think its a shotgun), the guy reloads each round. I think those weapons are limited to that one character for now.

[edit]i noticed there is a special animation for each one...

yes, this is limited to the characters with the appropriate data

but i can promise you that these are heavy weapons :p - having different shooting animations/reloadings doesnt make it impossible - each weapon just has to force the character into a different shooting sequence on heavy throw - or the heavy throwing itself is long enough to contain either a chain of shots or a single one with reloading

tho according to the speed of each weapon i assume they are all using the same set of frames
akatsuki Wrote:Ah i see what u mean, but but I also just notice the flash on the body, the more I look at it the more it looks like a transformation. Oh well I guess we will have to wait for the actual mod or character to come out.
yinyin Wrote:notice the green sword going between weapon and body of the swat as he swings it forward - only possible with a pickup for the control he has

notice the flash on the armor at the end of the second movie - and some fireball sprites going between armor and body
akatsuki Wrote:I see, that makes a little more sense, Im not really that good with DCing.
