Then you would be able to use it if you are walking forward, backward and down too.
My solution would be with opointing an object in standing frames which moves up for 1px or sth, then if you move up and press a you would react with the object's special bdy and perform the move.
But this is a DC solution, if you want a HEX one i can't help ya...

Short Question:
