16 Character Championship

How would I go about making championship mode have more character slots by adding another round.
Currently there are 8 characters max allowed in a 1v1 championship, so is it possible to add a new round to allow for double that amount?

Well technically anything is possible, just not practical. I mean it's pretty obvious what you have to do. Reverse engineer the entire tournament 1v1 process(and actually find where the hell it is), figure out how it works, then (re)write the code you need to make it do what you want to do.

No one has looked into the tournament code at all because no one really cares about it, so you have to do it all by yourself. No means that you won't get any help here...
