Very promising!

Hiring, so I presume it won't be a free-ware
? That's fine, but it also means that you'll be competing with Marti, which is still fine of course.

I can't wait to see some of the game's actual gameplay.

The game will be 100% free to play, with monetization similar to League of Legends. You can earn points to unlock additional characters by playing online matches, or you will be able to pay for these points. There will also be unlockable skins for each character.

There will also be ads on the mobile versions of the game, with an Ad Removal option.

More like freemium (HF is a freemium now too, btw). Hopefully, the points won't be very hard to collect for the players who wish to invest the time in it.

Are there any plans to make the game moddable?

One suggestions also, consider substituting the stances for the first 4 characters with something more dynamic.

We've got the Commission and Trades sub-forum which begs to be used for that. I recommend you start a recruitment thread there, as that will get you more attention. I'm sure a number of members here would be interested in working for your game.

Keep it up!

Keep it up!

Yea freemium would be the correct word, but the points will definitely be possible to obtain without paying. Paying is for people who don't want to put in the time to unlock specific characters, but unlike most freemium games, paying does not give any competitive advantage. There will be 4-6 free characters and the rotation will change every week.

As for modding, absolutely. The game was built with modding in mind :). I created a new data system in JSON. You can simply drop your sprites into the Characters folder and adjust their JSON data to match the sprite sheets, and also change various other configuration variables. It will actually be way more easy to mod than LF2, and down the line I am hoping to launch a "Character Marketplace" where anyone can buy/sell custom characters.

I also like the idea for dynamic stances, definitely something to look into!

Glad to hear some excitement, they will definitely be similar to Firen and Freeze but they have their own unique personalities and traits, as well as some brand new special moves. They will both have the ice ball and fire ball, respectively.

Very promising work, looking forward to it.

Sprites seem as simple as LF2 as well, but quite promising at the same time.
Can't wait to see a Sneak Peek at the Data system. ( I actually can wait XD )
And hopefully a few more female main and side characters? They are too left out in video games.

To give you an idea, JSON looks like this:
    JAVASCRIPT-Code:
{
  parent: {
    tag0: "", tag1: "", tag2: "",
    child: {
      tag0: "", tag1: "", tag2: ""
    }
  }
}

With LF2 DC, it'll will probably look something like this:
    JAVASCRIPT-Code:
{
  frame: { id: 0,
    pic: 0, state: "standing", wait: 2, next: 1,
    itr: {
      x: 0, y: 0, w: 10, h: 10
    }
  }
}
