1.9c Mirror bug
#1
Hello!
Maybe a topic with answer exists, but I can't find it :(.

I've installed Lf2 1.9c on Windows 7, because I'm annoyed that I need to make mirror sprites.
Unhopefully it somehow still gets messed up.

Lf2 1.9c client acts exactly like 2.0 one and if it doesn't find mirror file it uses normal one as the mirror, but unflipped :/
So character you can't really tell what is character doing, because frames are messed up.
I hope you understand what I mean. Is there anyway to fix it? I don't wanna to have 100 more _mirror files. Its messy.

For the record, 2.0a is also smart enough to make do without the _mirror files. "In case the mirrored pictures are not provided, LF2 will try to do the mirroring programmatically. It means even you don't provide *_mirror.bmp, LF2 may still work," says Marti. But it sounds like your video card doesn't support the flipping function anyway.

You need to have the mirror files. That's the point of the mirror files. The mirror files exist as a solution to the problem. It's to do with lf2 being built on ancient libraries which are out of date for current hardware. The fix is the mirror files.

But 1.9c didnt support mirror files, wtf?
It still gets bugged on my 1.9c not on 2.0a!

I've just tried installing in different paths like 5 times, doesnt matter wherever i place it.

Rumors are rumors...

Gad knows about the possibility to include mirror sprites in 2.0a, he just wants to avoid it if possible.

So most likely the problem existed pre 2.0 as well, thought of that? You make it sound like because 1.9c didn't support mirror files the problem shouldn't occur.

Also what's the big deal with creating mirror sprites - you do it once and then you're done. (Even if you do it only after finishing all the sprites.)

You don't get the point.
As I said 1.9c does not support mirror files.
Even if I add them, they aren't loaded.
The problem is - 1.9c doesn't work even with mirror files.

The easiest solution is to play 2.0 with morror sprites, but what if I want 1.9c, not 2.0 ffs?

The big deal is that I have (possibly) plenty of sheets, and mirroring each one after every little change takes time and annoys.
On my previous PC/winXP I worked without mirror files, they were operated by my pc memory.

If you want to play with 1.9 1.9c and 2.0, you must use an computer which has a old graphical card that flip sprites. If your graphical card is new it cant flip sprites then you must use 2.0a, which contain mirror sprites.

There is no way to play 1.9 in a new computer (video card) without sprite bug.

This seems to be the only topic concerning mirroring for 1.9c, but since there's no real answer to your problem I guess there isn't any practical solution.

For the mirroring, as I said you'd only have to do it after completing all the spritesheets (if it's going to be something you're gonna release), or only after every major change. In any other case there still is this practical tool: http://www.lf-empire.de/forum/showthread.php?tid=3348
