Important DC questions - Alectric - 01-01-2009

ill start off by asking whether anyone happens to know of a list of EVERY lf2 frame state and what they do, (same with itr kinds)
1. is there a way to make louis's armor reflective (as in when balls hit him, they rebound), i tried different states in his standing frames, except he couldnt move and could only perfrom his attacks?

2. how do i give chars an instant amount of mana, i want john to make an orb which can heal mana as well as a health orb?

3. is there an easy way to make a char hard to knock down? (i am refering to yinyin's skull mark) but make them like that when they get back up too?

4. i have given julian an itr in his standing frames to make him more untouchable. i want to give him this 'shield' in just about all his frames, but his walking frame have catching acts, and i have NO clue what they do, so can a frame have 2 itr's?

5. how do i make freeze ice proof, the way i did it made him flip out, but get permanetely stuck, and untouchable, is there a frame better for this?

6. how do i make a char when walked into, or when he is walking into others, grab them imediately without them having to do the 'dance of pain'?

I'll help you as much as i can:
4. yep, as many as you want.
5. I think you simply makes his first ice-frame have a wait: 0 and then make it go to the first falling-frame
6. Use an itr kind: 3 and just specify the frames it will go to.

1. Give him some itr/kind: 0 in all of his frames.
2. Give John a itr/kind: 8 in every frame which lead to a frame that has mp: -...
Give the orb a bdy have the same y value with the itr/kind: 8 and use the self-hit technique to
make it give hp.

    effect: 4 so that louis' armour won't hurt constantly.

the only way to do this is to activate a hidden bear bottle and let the char drink the bottle with state 17 during the move. Of course you can let the bottle disappear behind the char or create a new frame in the bottle-dat-file without an image... the only things which count is state 17 and the id of the bottle in hands...

hm, would need to look at this char, dont know exactly what you mean, but for hard-to-knock-down I could also suggest the id of julian :p

limits per frame:
10 x (bdy+itr)
1 opoint / wpoint (in weapons and chars) / bpoint (in chars) / cpoint (mostly used in chars)
opoint will not work in the first frame of an activated move / object

the catchingact shows the number of the frame where the char go to if he catch another char... (remember: you have to put the enemy into dance of pain and then walk into him)

depends if you just want to make him look iceproof (and the damage will still work) or if the damage should also not work. This is very hard or you need to choose a version-method and modify every char

Yes I am a occasual-undead.

Anyways.
To make yourself harder to knock down, you should go into a fitnes center. Ha. Ha... Ha...
Or opoint yourself a object that hits your char with a negative fall value.

The object should have state: 18 and NO special y-value, therefore the char opoints the object on this special y-value.
So the object is created in the Air, hits the char because the char has a bdy which is in hit-range.

ah, i see
it makes sense now,
i managed to get most to work (i cant be bothered trying to do 3.)
i still am not sure about johns mana ball, i tried to get the example, but as you found out the downloads stopped working again,
but im not sure you understand, i want john to be able to create a blue orb, which when walked into only heals mana of that char. do i have to give the ball a mp: -500 tag? i dont get it...

Another question, if i remove all the bdy's from a chars standing frames,
will he be still attacked by other chars? (but obviously not getting hit)

The enemies still try to attack you.

That depend on you. You could do that or opoint out a invisible beer.

This energy orb is rather difficult to make.
Since you can't use the 500 mp technique that is explained on the website.

The only thing I can imagine is that when john walks into the orb he gets into a frame cycle where he creates beer on the ground.
Invisible one of course. And with itr/kind: 7 (?) he picks it up and with another press of "attack" he "drinks" it aka. gets full mp.

Now the only weird thing about that is, that you have to press attack twice. Dunno, make something visual that fits. Like letting him glow purple and if you press attack a cloud of stars could appear around him.
In case something like a cloud of stars exists...


Congratulations if you understood this and manage to do this. I wouldn't. Be able to do this, of course I understand it :/

but what about other chars?
john makes orb, davis walks into orb (which can be on other team) and gets full mana
i think i understand what you are saying. i have to make john make an invisible beer that looks like an orb, and for people to drink/absorb it, they have to press 'a' on it.
if not...i wasted my time writing all that out.
