[solved] Balls and shadows. - JossuaDC - 01-13-2010 The only ball-state which doesn't show a shadow is 3005, but I need the balls to go to a different frame when I hit them (or have them go to a different frame on command using any technique). State 3000 is great, but the shadows are kind of hindersome for the attack I have created. tl;dr: State 3005 ball goes to a different frame on command. How to achieve? Can't use the special ID's -> this is for the Forum Mod. PS: Balls. Lol. RE: Balls and shadows. - MH-Razen - 01-13-2010 if this is for a mod then I suggest you hide all shadows for this one id with hex stuff and your problem is solved - no shadow and you can use the states you need RE: Balls and shadows. - Reaper - 01-13-2010 Hm... Could you maybe alternatively spawn a normal ball lets say 4000 pixels far away and add 4000 to all x-values of bdy: and itr: ? RE: Balls and shadows. - JossuaDC - 01-13-2010 Ok, I'll ask genevrier to hex the program when we reach 50% with the mod. Still open to any suggestions, though. Could you maybe alternatively spawn a normal ball lets say 4000 pixels far away and add 4000 to all x-values of bdy: and itr: ?Won't work when my character's close to a boundary; you can't spawn anything outside the playing area. RE: Balls and shadows. - no one - 01-13-2010 Couldn't you just opoint out another ball with state: 3005 to clash with each other? RE: Balls and shadows. - no one - 01-13-2010 First opoint out that state 3005 ball that need to be hit (ball 1). Then opoint out a weapon out of reach so it can be independent. The weapon will opoint out another ball with state: 3005 (ball 2) that hit ball 1. Since the weapon is independent, ball2 can hit ball 1 without state: 18. Since the weapon is independent, ball2 can hit ball 1 without state: 18.So I have to opoint another item with a shadow (it'll show, especially with 2 wait:0 frames) before I can opoint something without a shadow? I'm not too fond of the technique you've described, but it works in theory (even better: it works even if there are multiple balls in the play area). I'll give it a shot; I may be able to hide the shadow with a clever trick. Still open to suggestions, but thanks given to no one for his idea. Edit: It doesn't work. Well, it does, but not for the effect I'm trying to achieve. RE: Balls and shadows. - HappyHouR - 01-13-2010 Its seem you forgot state: 3005 can be rebound? or you don't want to use ik9 to rebound it? Code: State 3005 - Ball Flying / No Shadow
State 3005 is one of the only states that hides an object's shadow. If you use it in a ball's flying frames, it'll destroy any other ball attack it hits (it's stronger than state 300 and state 3006).
State 3006 - Bally Flying / Piercing
State 3006 is a stronger version of state 3000. It cannot be rebounded and state 3000 balls won't destroy it. However, if a state 3006 ball is hit by a state 3005 attack or another state 3006 attack, it'll be destroyedRE: Balls and shadows. - JossuaDC - 01-13-2010 Okay, here's what I'm trying to do: -Opoint several balls (invisible and without a shadow) on different x/y levels. -Character enters a frame which 'hits' the invisible balls. (done with a weapon opointing a ball, but I already knew that before no one's post) -Invisible balls turn visible and disappear. Razen's solution is the easiest to accomplish and fool-proof, but I don't like the idea of having a character which needs an hex-editted executable to work the way it was intended to work (in case I want to publish the character without a full mod). |
