behaviour curiosity - dubbleD - 05-24-2011

i know i havent an ounce of knowledge about relevant hexadecimal language but while testing some idea out, i observed something that seemed interesting.

i know its more than likely that other people before have seen this before.

heres the situation:
-i have edited dennis' chasing ball so it would continue chasing forever
-spawn a whole bunch during stage mode
-i defeated a wave of bad guys with a bunch of balls present and watch some bottles of beer and milk drop from the sky
-the chasing ball flies to the drinks and stays around the drinks almost like it were computer players. it actually doesnt fly away when new enemies spawn

is this behaviour something that can be modified through hex?
or maybe in turn, executable?

AFIAK, the chasing state just chooses the closest enemy and flies towards it. It could be modified to ignore specific IDs, or ignore things in certain frames(I think it already ignores you if you are in the lying state, but don't quote me on that).

hmm....but in this case, it is not chasing an enemy. just bottles
would it be a little more correct to say particular object types? or am i wrong?

i know that if i used the milk bottle state on a character, it attracts all enemies to the character like bees to a bee hive. so as far as im aware, milk bottles are highly sought after :P
are there any possible correlations?

Well right now it doesn't care about types, it will follow the closest thing not on your team(I think, I have never looked at the actual code :p). Like I said, it's probably possible to alter it in any way you like. Like make it only chase things of a certain type, or make it only chase things with over 250 hp/mp etc.
