LF2 Terminology - Kevin - 04-07-2012 This is actually dedicated for helping the LF Wiki to refine the pages. We will need to list the accepted terms, so I will list it here. Please mention anything that needs a term. We have to discuss until we all agree with one term and it will then be listed here. List of Accepted Terms (in alphabetical order) Spoiler (Click to View) List of things that need to be discussed. Please share your opinion: The best term for these things, and the reason/logic for that. Spoiler (Click to View) You may also try to refine the definition of existing terms. Hopefully the terms list will grow ^^ . It is really helpful for us who are writing pages about things in LF2. I will write more later when I have time. We have so many things that need a term. RE: LF2 Terminology - Electric2Shock - 04-07-2012 For Julian's ball , John's disk, Henry's Critical Arrow etc. 1. Unreboundable objects 2. Semi-strong objects 3. (state) 3006 objects. For Phoenix or Dragon Palm etc. 1. Non-stoppable objects. 2. Fully-strong objects. 3. (state) 3005 objects. RE: LF2 Terminology - zort - 04-07-2012 Attacks that can it more than one guy: multi-hit? area of effect? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that also characterizes the soul bomb, disk, and fire arrow: they're multi-hit projectiles. Aren't palms exactly the same, just invisible? Moves that a bot is liable to use even when no enemies are on the same line as them (e.g. tiger dash, inferno, icicles, but not any balls that I can think of): free-use? superlinear? Those tied-up guys in stage mode: allies? prisoners? RE: LF2 Terminology - Silverthorn - 04-07-2012 (04-07-2012, 06:45 PM)zort Wrote: Aren't palms exactly the same, just invisible? Phoenix palm runs on state 3005, soul bomb/super arrow/disk on 3006. These get broken immediately by the palm, but palm gets only destroyed by another 3005-object <hypothesis> or when the object has received more damage that its hp </hypothesis>. RE: LF2 Terminology - Electric2Shock - 04-08-2012 Hey I didn't know that state 3005 has hp ?:? RE: LF2 Terminology - Kevin - 04-08-2012 Soul bombs are also destroyed after getting much damage, which makes it similar to palms... Hmm, but so it is on stage 3005 (xD I don't really understand the states though) Multi Hit: I agree with this term. Should we add it to the list? :P Attacks that can hit falling enemies: How about 'swipe'? For palms: keep it like 'palms'? For soul bomb, john's disk, henry's super arrow: I like 3006 projectiles , I just hope it won't look strange. But not unreboundable because Justin and Deep's energy blasts and many other projectiles cannot be rebounded as well. Instead of semi-strong, I think 'strong' is better, and I believe John's disk can resist any number of normal projectiles.Quote:Moves that a bot is liable to use even when no enemies are on the same line as them (e.g. tiger dash, inferno, icicles, but not any balls that I can think of): free-use? superlinear?Superlinear sure sounds cool xD . But I don't really know what the meaning is (my english!). Any opinion about this anyone? :P . Quote:Those tied-up guys in stage mode: allies? prisoners? We are used to the term 'criminals' but they are actually the 'victims' xD not the criminals so idk. Usually, it's 500 (exception: Rudolf & Julian-ID, those have 10), weapons might deviate. That's how those timers in t3-objects work, via hit_a, they give themselves a set damage, when they're "dead" the frame written in hit_d is activated. Therefore, not the state itself but the object has the hp ![]() (04-08-2012, 06:15 AM)Kevin Wrote: (xD I don't really understand the states though)Regardless of their damage, this is how the states overrule each other: 3000 < 3006 < 3005. Somewhere inbetween, there are the rebounding- and whatnot-states, but those are, if I remember correctly, not used inside the original data-files. (04-08-2012, 06:15 AM)Kevin Wrote: I like 3006 projectilesThing is that the DCers will immediately know what is meant, LF2-newbies won't. Something along the lines of "piercing" or "armor-breaking" could maybe make this a little clearer. (04-08-2012, 06:15 AM)Kevin Wrote:Super = surpassing, linear = straight. Mmmh, could work, although, I have to admit, it sounds rather.... weirdQuote:Moves that a bot is liable to use even when no enemies are on the same line as them (e.g. tiger dash, inferno, icicles, but not any balls that I can think of): free-use? superlinear?Superlinear sure sounds cool xD . I can't really come up with anything better, though.(04-08-2012, 06:15 AM)Kevin Wrote:Criminals sounds good. The spritesheet is called "criminal.bmp", and nearly all references call them criminals. "Victim" could be mistaken with somebody that's being attacked, held, combo'd, whatever'd.Quote:Those tied-up guys in stage mode: allies? prisoners? We are used to the term 'criminals' but they are actually the 'victims' xD not the criminals so idk. RE: LF2 Terminology - Kevin - 04-08-2012 Piercing for soul bomb, super arrow and John's disk? I wonder why it's always difficult to find words that suit like this. I would agree with piercing. Do think criminals is good, just being unsure. Well, now that you pointed out nearly all references call them criminals, it becomes obvious for me to use criminals as well. I personally think that the jargonness of "3006 projectiles" is fine, a weak reason being that people will have to look it up to find out what it means either way. I don't really care, let's Kevin decide. Kevin Wrote:Piercing for soul bomb, super arrow and John's disk? Kevin Wrote:We are used to the term 'criminals' but they are actually the 'victims' xD not the criminals so idk.Heh, funny, my brother and I also use an ill-fitting term just out of habit: hostages. RE: LF2 Terminology - Ramond - 04-08-2012 Fireballs and iceballs don't pierce armor. It's only that Louis' and Knight's armors don't provide armor class against elemental attacks. As you probably know Julian doesn't freeze or burn immediately when hit. I personally think piercing projectiles fits very well. |
