About awards

I thought about awards like those:





for sprite, photo, skill and DC-contest winner.
The cup could be showed in the avatar, and if you put the cursor onto it, it will show the text: "Sprite Contest Winner" for example.

(using html- alt:"blablabla" )

I mean, which sense would it make, to join a contest, knowing that you'll get nothing for winning.
This is an easy way for giving prices.
And this should not be an elitism-thingy.
We could also giving awards for some really heavy tournaments.

Actually if there should be something like these contest awards then they should be shown like the normal awards, in the profile itself.
Maybe create a section and then it can even say which is which contest award etc.

But actually I think those awards are not really important. So if this would be a poll i'd vote for no.

Agree with Lauli about the in-profile-thingy. I wouldn't put these awards into the avatar-field. It's not very difficult to make these awards like it says in the additional info about a person. This field could be filled with the regular cups for fighting, and for other contests, there'd be different awards in there (crud, more images that I have to make )

Also, I don't really know how many contests we'll do. For example, look into the old LFE-forums, there's, I believe, one or two DCing contests, one or two spriting contests, etc. Depending on the activity of the members and their preferences (coding, doing graphics, etc...), we might be able to organize such tournaments. I wouldn't be totally disinclined if we add that stuff to the profile field. It's possibly a really good idea

However, it will be like an elitism thingy when a smart head says:

SPRITE CONTEST!!!! bezt sprited/creative weapon winz!1!! ONLY for those with 10:th grade sprite award or more can join!

So, I don't like the idea, it would only work if everybody in this forum would act very proper (which I don't always do, I guess)

agree with lauli - I would show them like the cups for tournaments (in case the plugin will be written someday )

Would supoort the idea itsself, only new cup-pics for new kinds of tournaments would be cool... but not necessary...

So ok for it , I'll create the profile field when the first content with thee cups is done...
