since exams have been over, i've restarted work on hero quest. check the first post if you haven't heard of it. if you've been following the blog, i have irregularly posted snippets of progress, and switched from using java to c++, mainly because of the speed boost you can get (though it takes heaps more code just to do the same thing in c++, so it's much harder in a sense).

for the latest update, i've written the loader for data.txt though it's probably not gonna be called that anymore. i've also changed the syntax in how you specify objects and maps. plus, for maps, i'm allowing opoints to be written into the data to specify objects to create at the start of the match. i might implement "spawn points" as well in the future (for a proper platform mid air game - if you fall off, you lose).

as with earlier posts, i'll be posting here (and on the blog) whenever something major's been done.

it should, he switched from java to c++ now, and I never heard of a computer which is not able to play exe-files :P
